2006 Bald Knob

Bald Knob is a very fruity semi dry red wine made from Chambourcin grapes. Finished in a manner similar to a young Beaujolais, Bald Knob is a dry red wine drinker’s summer wine. It’s light fruity and fun, ideal for a backyard cookout with friends or that occasional serious BBQ that cries out for right light wine that’s big enough to not get lost on your palate.

Named for the highest point in Southern Illinois and on Owl Creek’s founder’s head, Bald Knob is a fun nod to the great terroir that makes Shawnee Hills Chambourcin possible and the decade of toil Ted Wichmann dedicated to making great Illinois wines.

Bald Knob is made exclusively with the Shawnee Hills region’s finest red grape variety – Chambourcin - and is locally grown to assure the highest quality possible.
